A loan of $575 helped to buy wood and materials.

Leslie's story

Leslie, 26, is a friendly, good and hardworking woman. She is a single mother of two children, 8 and 3, who are dependent on her, since her former partner abandoned them. She has to work hard, but everything she does is so she can provide the best for her children and they can have a better quality of life. She lives in her own house with her children and her sister.

Leslie’s work consists of selling pictures. She makes scheduled visits to the prison to purchase paintings done by the inmates and then sells them to her clients on credit, collecting from them weekly or biweekly. This job earns her an income so she can provide an education and food for her family. She has been doing it for two years and it is going very well. What she likes about her work is that it allows her to schedule her own time, but it was not always so easy, because at first she knew nothing about the business, however little by little she began learning how to do it and now it is a way of life for her. She hopes to be able to continue working and generating an income for her household. In the future she is thinking of beginning to sell in greater volumes and of sending her products to other places and districts in the region.

This will be Leslie’s second loan from MFP and she hopes to have your collaboration so that she can continue to meet her goals. She is committed to making her payments on time as she did with her earlier loan. As well she is very pleased to be able to work with her communal bank, since they are good and very responsible people.
