A loan of $750 helped to purchase farming supplies (fertilizer, seeds and pesticide).

Virginia's story

She was born in the district of Namaacha, province of Maputo, southern Mozambique. She's married and has four children, three of which still attend school. She completed 7th grade and stopped because her parents lacked financial conditions. She lives with her family in a house she owns and also supports a niece who lives with her.
She left Namaacha for Boane when she got married. She's a farmer who has owned her land for over 10 years and earns an income of about 6.125mt a month. She uses it to pay for home expenses and saves part of it in her bank account.
She has never had loans in other banks. She first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this institution. This is her sixth loan with Hluvuku. It is for 20.000mt, which she intends to use to purchase farming supplies. The other loans were for 5.000mt, 6.000mt, 7.000mt, 13.000mt and 15.000mt, for various purposes.
She pledges to repay as scheduled. In the future she plans to build rooms for renting and for that reason she intends to request more loans from Hluvuku.
