A loan of $900 helped purchase cattle.

Zoila Narcisa's story

Señora Zoila is a member of the communal bank, Nuevo Amanecer, and lives in the Parish of Zhidmad in Cuenca. This Parish is known for its natural beauty and the farms in the fields. The people here also tend to maintain the culture and the traditions of their parents.

Señora Zoila is 40 years old and a single mother of 4 children aged 20, 17, 16, and 7 years old. Her three oldest children are studying in high school and her youngest is in the local school. She owns the house that she lives in.

She takes care of her household and all of its related chores, and since she spends so much time at home, she also raises guinea pigs, chickens, pigs, and cattle. She also works in agriculture, which she keeps for personal consumption.

She has been a member of the communal bank for over nine years. She plans to invest her new credit in the purchase of cattle. Her dream is to have her own business, like a store and/or a vehicle.
