A loan helped to buy supplies.

Esther's story

Esther is 20 years old and lives with 21 year old Hugo. They have a son and live together in a rented house in the Pichari district. Esther is a creative young woman and she and her husband both do carvings from a rented workshop. She says that one day she did a job for one of her friends and he liked it so much that he suggested that she do many projects and this is how she began making wooden carvings of exotic animals, birds, and mammals, which she shows and sells at one of the Pichari district fairs. They’ve caused a sensation among the competition and [the couple’s] creativity has not been restricted. Esther is happy with her work because it’s a way for her to generate an income of her own. She generally works with her husband and wants to expand her arts shop and set up a location of her own.

This will be her first loan thorough MFP and she’s committed to making her payments on time. She’ll use the 1,500 PEN ($575) to buy supplies like wood and paint.
