Nelson's story

Nelson is a member of the "Ilusión 2011" communal bank from the town of Viña del Mar. He is in sales, more specifically selling groceries in a store adapted in the garage of his home. He has been in this business for one year and six months. He works 12 hours a day from Monday through Sunday. He buys his merchandise from wholesale sellers, distributors and suppliers. With the loan he will purchase merchandise in order to stock up his store. His goals are to expand his business and to see it prosper, and so he needs to stock up with more and newer merchandise. Nelson lives with his mother and one of his dreams is to purchase a vehicle and also a house of his own. He is very happy and thankful for the help he has been given by Fondo Esperanza, because it has allowed him to invest in his business. As for the communal bank he belongs to, he reports that it is a very united, committed and responsible group. Also, the trainings have been useful for him to organize accounting for his business in the best possible way. Viña del Mar is a town and commune located in the central coast of Chile. It is known as the Garden Town due to the gardens and yards belonging to some of the town's old houses. It is also considered to be Chile's tourism capital.
