A loan of $575 helped to buy drinks to chill and sell.

Rosa's story

Rosa, 66, lives to the southwest of the city with her husband, and has two children, ages 32 and 40. There she has worked selling cold drinks for approximately 10 years. In her house she sells beer and soft drinks, which she stores in a 500-unit bottle rack, to customers who buy it to drink in their homes. Her goal is to manage to expand her business and always offer her customers a timely service.

Currently she approached Mario Santo Domingo Foundation to request a Kiva loan, the first funding she has requested from this organization. With it she will buy drinks to chill and sell in the most festive and family-oriented season of the year, Christmas and New Year.

Her dream is to become a supplier for stores and small businesses (which usually end up without inventory and have to wait for the weekly distribution), to be able to meet the demand of her customers. She also hopes through this work to improve her living conditions in the future and to feel more comfortable with what God has given her.
