Sarafina Group's story

Nia, who is in her late 30s is married with three children who are still going to school. She has been running a food vendor business for 10 years now. She works from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit. This will be her 3rd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her previous loans for household expenses, school fees and increased on the stock of the missing items and has paid back all her loans successfully. She hopes for a loan to buy more food stock for her food business. Her dream is to one day open a shop and start selling Madilla (Muslim type of clothes). She will share this loan with her loan group "Sarafina" which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
