Sarah's story

Sarah lives in Uganda. She is married and has two children, both of whom are in school. She also takes care of additional family members (her father). Sarah has a business selling bananas. She has been in this business for over 10 years, and she works 6 days out of every week.

Sarah sells her products from home, retail. Sarah has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT SACCO, which she will use to buy more bunches of bananas. The main business challenges for Sarah include thieves and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to see her business grow big and start selling wholesale only and also to build her own house.

Sarah lives in a home that she rents; she has access to electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees, paying utility bills and feeding the family.
