A loan of $300 helped to buy more plantains.

Efren's story

Efrén, 19, is an enterprising, industrious young man who is marked by determination. He is single and lives with his father, mother and sister in his parents' house.

Efrén's family business is the sale of plantains. His work begins very early in the morning when he goes to buy plantains from the very producers who sell them at the river port. There he gets the fruit at wholesale prices and therefore gets a good profit margin.

He's been in this business with his parents for more than 4 years. He likes the business as he earns a great income which helps to pay for family expenses and also his higher education.

On the other hand, what he doesn't like about his business is getting up very early in the morning, but he is not discouraged by this fact. He wants to become a successful businessman, so he plans to set up a store that specializes in the sale of hardware items.

This will be his first loan from the institution MFP. He says he is grateful for the support through a loan facility, that is why he promises to pay his fees in order to build a good credit history.

He will invest the requested amount of 800 nuevos soles in his business, to buy more plantains in the hope of becoming independent and starting his own business.
