A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy clothes and shoes for resale.

Shungu Group's story

This is 45-year-old Evenia from Harare, Machipisa. She is widowed and has five children, two attending school. She also cares for one other dependent.

Evenia runs a clothing business, selling clothes ranging from formal wear to casual wear, including shoes. The business has been in operation for the past eight years. She says the main challenges she faces are competition and changing weather.

Evenia has requested a loan of $400 to buy clothes and shoes for resale. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to pay school fees and finish building her house. In the future, Evenia plans to own a clothing shop in the central business district.
