Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Alice's story

Alice is a 49-year-old businesswoman and pig farmer. She is married to Peter, who is a businessman. They are blessed with two children. Alice has been rearing pigs for the one year, earning a monthly income of KES 10,000, which she uses to support her family.

She is applying for her first loan with KADET after being introduced by a KADET staff member. Alice will use the loan to buy more pigs and pig feed. With the anticipated profit from the business she will educate her children. She hopes to own a big pig farm and become a leader in pig farming.
