A loan of $575 helped a member to pay for more fish to produce pepes ikan( steamed fish with special seasoning) to sell.


Satria 1 Group's story

Kosiah is 47 years old. She is married with three children. She has been selling pepes ikan (steamed fish with special seasoning) since 2010 from her house. The business is going well. The income that she generates can help her to pay for her children's school fees. Her husband sells calves and the income is already enough to buy meals. She really likes to sell pepes ikan because people around her neighborhood really like it and the food is always sold out. Sometimes she faces a problem with an increase in the price of the ingredients. Now she wants to use her loan to buy more fish to produce more pepes ikan to sell. In the future, she wants to continuously send give her children a better education. She also hopes she can have her own restaurant to sell pepes ikan. Other group members are using their part of loan to improve their businesses, which include selling cell phone minute refills and selling peyek (an Indonesian snack).
