Originally from the Ponhea Krek district, Navy is 41 years old. She is a peasant who has been growing soy beans and cassava for more than five years to make a living. She now earns more than 15 U.S. dollars per day from her current business.
Navy is the fourth cycled loan client. The previous loans from VisionFund have helped her grow her business. Now she is applying for another loan. She will use it to grow more soy beans and use some of the loan to buy a new ladder for her house. She hopes this loan will enable her to keep her business growing while having a new ladder for her house.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
