María Auxiliadora's story

Every 15 days the members of the Communal Bank, Palabra De Mujer (Woman's Word) meet in the15th District of the city of Manta. Manta is known for its beautiful beaches that are visited at any time of year by domestic and foreign tourists. With a warm climate, it's also known for its cuisine and its many tourist attractions.

Here we met María, who is 22 years old, unmarried and studied business administration at a university in Manta. She lives with her parents. She has been in the communal bank for more than 4 years and likes the support the bank provides to help her move forward in her business.

María is a lovely girl who is pursuing her studies. Along with her mother, she also works in business, selling gold laminated jewelry that they buy in the city of Guayaquil and then at home deliver the goods to other retailers that distribute throughout the city . They sell wholesale, give credit and then collect every 15 days or at month-end. They have been in business for over 7 years and do very well.

This loan will be used to buy jewelry laminated in gold. María's dreams are to complete her studies and become an entrepreneur.
