A loan of $550 helped to buy bananas, apples, papaya, cabbage, cassava and pipíanes.

Mateo's story

Mateo lives with his wife and their four children. He sells fruits and vegetables, an activity he started by his own initiative, and he works Mondays to Sundays. The loan he is requesting will be used to buy more products to stock up his shop such as : bananas, apples, papaya, cabbage, cassava and pipiánes (pipián is a variety of squash known as ‘cushaw’ in the United States). He will thus be able to have a wider variety of fresh fruits, and increase his income in December, the time of the year when he sells more. Mateo’s goals are to improve his family’s standard of living and to always keep his activity steady.
