Fattouma is a 55-year-old Lebanese single woman. She lives with her three siblings. They are all joining forces and working really hard to cover the heavy living expenses. Fattouma opened her own mini-market in 2001 and has ten years of experience in this domain. She’s really satisfied with the results she has attained so far.
Today, she’s looking for a loan of $1,200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase the required quantities of groceries including sugar, soft drinks, cigarettes and many other items. She notes that this Kiva loan will increase her sales thus her profits. In the future, she plans to open her own supermarket.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
