Houenoussou2 Group's story

HOUENOUSSOU2 Group is made up of eleven persons who live in the same town and run complementary businesses. This is the second time that the members of the group are seeking financial support from Kiva's partner, ALIDé, in order to bolster their businesses.

The group's representative, named Yèyinou Hortance, is the one raising her hand in the photograph. She's 32 years old and married to a mechanic named Jeames.

They have five school-attending children to support, and they take care of the various household expenses.

For ten years, Yèyinou Hortance has been selling fabrics, shoes, and yams as a traveling saleswoman in one of Benin's market. This business enables her to provide for herself and her children.

She gets her supplies in one of Benin's market. Eager to satisfy her clientele and in order to increase her revenue and income, Yèyinou Hortance is seeking a second loan, together with the other members of the group. The first loan was repaid without problems.
