Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Adam's story

Adam is a 48-year-old man and is married to Rosalina, a 48-year-old lady. Adam is a headman in his village. They have been blessed with six children. They are: Wellem, 26; Saul, a 24-year-old university student; Admin, 20, graduated from senior high school; Victor, 18, attending a technical high school; Monika, 11, attending elementary school and Randy, 6, attending kindergarten.

Adam has a kiosk business selling various daily needs, i.e: instant noodles, coffee, sandals, ketchup, cooking oil, some snacks, etc. Adam has been engaged in the business for the past three years. Adam is grateful since the business enables him to finance his family's daily needs and education fees for his children.

Adam was thinking to improve his business by adding a greater variety of stock, i.e.: wheat flour, margarine, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, coffee, rice, etc. He got information that TLM provides the individual Lending Program for small entrepreneurs like him. He then submitted the loan application and is requesting a loan amounting to IDR 10,000,000. He is hoping that his loan application will be approved by TLM.
