Maria Juana's story

María Juana is 39 years old and is married with 6 children. She lives with her husband and her children ages 20, 18, 12, 6, 4 and 6 months in the Guaranda Province of Bolívar.

She is a member of the group VRC VENTANAL which can be found in the community of Guantuncoto, in Julio Moreno Cantón Guaranda Parish, at a distance of 30 minutes from the loan office. The group members work in various activities, including agriculture, cattle, raising small animals like pigs, chickens and sheep, sales and construction.

María works in agriculture and in domestic work at home. She buys and sells in Guaranda. She is asking for a loan in order to plant corn and purchase seeds and fertilizers. With the help of the loan she will be able to invest in agriculture in order to obtain better yields. Her dream is to be able to have a mini market. The challenges that she faces include drought or too much winter. In her free time she likes to enjoy the carnival festivities.

With the help of her previous loan she was able to purchase the necessary items to plant such as fertilizers. The economic situation of her family has improved. Her relationship with her family has grown even stronger. "She is very thankful for the help provided."
