Fortune Plus Group's story

Munoko, aged 51, is married and the father of six children. Munoko is the chairman of the community bank named “Fortune Plus,” which comprises 24 members united in solidarity to receive Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses.

Munoko has been part of the micro-enterprise world since 2008. He runs a general store in the eastern area of Kinshasa. He has acquired solid experience, he works hard, and he applies good management skills in order to realize his dream of one day opening a larger store in his area. He would also like to achieve financial independence through his business, which earns him $10 per day. He works to the best of his abilities and uses his contacts so that he might achieve his goals. With his current loan, Munoko will increase his store's stock of goods by buying items such as soaps, canned goods, and sacks of sugar to resell at a profit.
