Khiev, 36, is a humble villager who has been residing in Prey Chor district, Kompong Cham province. She works in farming alongside her husband, who has the same career. This couple is blessed with 3 single children, all of whom are attending school and living under their income.
Now is the time for Khiev to start to harvest and collect her rice from the rice field, however, presently her threshing machine doesn’t work well because it was broken from last time. She is seeking for a loan from HKL and Kiva to buy some spare parts to repair her broken machine. She hopes that she will be able to achieve her goal of having a big farm and to increase her rice production.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
