Sman's story

Mr. Sman L. , 37, has been married for sixteen years and has three children-- two sons and one daughter. All of them are studying in the local school. He and his family live approximately twenty kilometers from Phnom Penh.

Mr. L. is in the business of fishing and selling Prohok while his wife has been selling Chinese noodles for five years. Prohok is made from fish and is a favorite food of Cambodians. Mr. L. learned his skill from his parents as a young boy. Both husband and wife hope to continue to grow their businesses so they can support their children’s studies.

He is requesting his fifth loan in the amount of $700. He will use this money to purchase ingredients needed for making Prohok.
