Moila's story

Moila is from the village Beitarabchi, East Georgia. He is 64 years old, married and lives with his family: his wife, Ava, a 29 year old son and a daughter in law. All family members are involved in the family farming activities. The farm is the only source of income for the family. In particular, they have 6 milk cows and 20 sheep. Ava produces cheese and sells it locally. Also, the family sells lambs in the village. Along with domestic animals the family has a 3 hectare plot of the land, where maize and sunflowers are grown. Harvested corns are sold locally as well. Total average monthly income of the family is 900 Laris. Moila has requested credit for hiring a tractor, which will till the land. After properly done seasonal work, Moila can count on a good harvest next year. They will sell the harvest for a convenient price and gets the planned income, which will be used for the family's daily needs.
