Lotus Group's story

Prisila, who is in her 20's, is married and has three children. She earns a living by selling secondhand clothes, works from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. She is applying for her eighth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her previous loans to buy more secondhand clothes to sell. She repaid these loans completely and on time. Now she is applying for a new loan to buy more items to sell. Her goal for the future is to open a large shop where she can sell her clothing. Plicila will share this loan with her group, which is called "Lotus" and has 15 members. Each member holds the others accountable for repaying their share of this loan.
