Mary's story

Mary is a married woman with four children, two of whom still attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.

For the past year Mary has operated a food stall business, selling from home to her neighbors and passersby. Seasonality in her business is her major challenge.

Mary decided to join Yehu to access loans so as to boost her business. With her 10,000 KES loan she wants to purchase sacks of maize flour, wheat flour and sugar. She dreams of establishing a restaurant business in the future.
