Mrs. Vannak, 26, is an industrious and responsible housewife who has been residing in Ornlong Veng district, Siem Reap province. She is a rice farmer and a mother of a single child attending a local primary school. Her family entirely depends on her husband who earns a profit by driving cars for a company. She would like to take out this loan to pay for mechanical repairs of her plowing machine, which was broken in the previous month. She thanks the financial institution for their constant support which enables her to achieve her projects in farming.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
