A loan of $950 helped to buy land to plant.

Rogelia's story

Rogelia, twenty-nine, is a hard-working woman. She lives in her own house with her partner, German, thirty-two, and their three beloved children to whom she hopes to bring a better quality of life. Rogelia grows coffee and cacao on land that she was able to buy through her own effort. Since then, she has worked with the help of her partner and day-laborers. They were able to weed the plants, and they help with the harvest and transporting crops to the roadways to picked up by hired transporters.

What Rogelia likes most about her job is the freedom she has to direct her own work; she says what's best for her crops. She's been in this business for ten years and finds the hardest part is fighting insect infestations that take over the sprouting plants.

Rogelia plans to use her loan to buy new fields to expand her harvest. This will be her second loan with MFP. She's glad for the assistance she gets that lets her get the job done, and she promises to make all of her payments. She'll use her loan of 2500 soles to buy the new fields so she can plant more crops.
