Girasol Group's story

The group is called "Girasol" [Sunflower] and is made up of three women, all of whom make a living doing different things. The women in the group who was interviewed is named Magdai. She is a widow with four children who are all married. She is responsible for a granddaughter who has lived with her since she was a baby. Magdai requested a loan to invest in inventory for her grocery store. She says that it is going well as she has been working with them for seven years and 4 months. Her children inspired her in this business. They gave her a small amount of funds to start a business. The business generates an income that supports her and also produces a little profit. Her hopes for this small business and the loan is that she can continue improving her business, each day a little bit more, so that she can support her growing granddaughter. The other two group members are Yareni, who will invest the money to purchase cosmetics for resale, and Rosa Lidia, who will invest the money to purchase lambs for resale.
