Abdel Latif is a 27-year-old single Lebanese man. He lives with his one parent and three siblings. One of his siblings is in school and two others are working. He cooperates with his siblings to satisfy the family needs. Abdel Latif started his work as a constructor in 2007; he works independently on a freelance basis and looks forward to taking on more projects. Today, he’s requesting to borrow 1,700 USD from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase wood for his business. This loan will improve his work and, therefore, his standard of living. In the future, he plans to accept bigger construction projects.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
