Tadjigul's story

Tadjigul is 56 years old, married, and has raised five children. Tadjigul works at the post office in the city of Batken. In 2006, seeking an additional source of income for her family, Tadjigul started her own business selling groceries. Thanks to her persistance and hard work, Tadjigul was able to develop her business to have a monthly income of 15,000 som (KGS) after beginning with 17,000 som (KGS) in startup capital. Tadjigul brings products to her store from various markets, which includes trips to shop in the city of Osh 240 kilometers away. In order further to grow her business, Tadjigul has approached Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 100,000 som (KGS) to expand her inventory. Tadjigul plans to invest the income from the loan into further expanding her business.
