Soforal Group's story

The Soforal solidarity group was created on July the 11th, 2002. It is made up of 8 woman who all live in the same area and are all small retailers.

Sarata, standing on the right of the picture with her hand raised, is the group´s leader. She is 71 years old, married and the mother of 6 children. She is an experienced saleswoman who has been selling peanut butter for many years.

This loan will increase Sarata´s working capital and will allow her to restock and develop her business activity. She will use her profits to improve her family´s living conditions - by buying good food and clothes and paying medical bills - and build up her savings.
