She lives in a village in the Ponhea Krek district and grows cassava plants, supplementing her income by running a small business in the front yard selling biscuits, cakes etc and also raising pigs to gain additional income. She has been with this business for more than 1 year. With her current business, she earns less than 7 US dollars per day. Sidoeun leads of a group of four female members.

This is Sidoeun's group’s first loan with VisionFund. Now she is requesting a loan to buy cassava seedlings for her farmland. With this loan, she hopes to grow more cassava and earn more income to make a living better and also keep her children in school.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
