Victoria Yadira's story

Señora Victoria is a member of the communal bank Esmeraldeñas. She lives in the city of Cuenca, a city that is rich in culture, gastronomy and natural delights which since December 1999 has been a cultural heritage site. Its people are friendly and polite.

Señora Victoria is 30 years old and is in a common-law marriage. She has no children. Her husband works selling seafood. Thye do not own their own house and live in rented accomodation. She makes and sells food. She works 4 days a week and she uses a handcart from which to sell her products as she travels around the city.

She has been a member of the communal bank for the last year and she will use her new loan to invest in the purchase of food supplies for her business. Her goal is to finish building her house which is currently under construction.
