A loan helped to buy fertilizer.

Maria Laura's story

María Laura is 24 years old. She’s single, has two children, and lives with the father of her two children who are 7 and 2 years old. They live in Guaranda, within the Bolívar province.

She’s a member of the Ventanilla Pangua communal bank, located in the Pangua Chaupiyacu community of the Guanujo Cantón Guaranda parish. It’s 15 minutes from the Ventanilla Pangua’s office. Most of its members farm, raise livestock, and do other things, like business and construction, where they can earn incomes.

María is a farmer and has potato crops, and pigs. She buys and sells in Guaranda and is asking for this loan in order to buy livestock, fertilizers, and urea. Her family’s financial situation will change with this loan. Her dreams are to be able to buy some land and move to a different city. The challenge that she faces is the lack of water for her crops.

She likes to relax and spend time with her children in her spare time.
