Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Santos Esther's story

Santos Esther is 30 years old. She lives in the Palo Herrado community with her children and her husband, a retailer, and they both work hard to provide for their children.

Santos Esther engages in producing and selling tortillas. She has been engaged in this activity for 3 years, and her customers are mainly her neighbors and people who place orders with her.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy maize, firewood, lime and water in order to improve her tortillas production.
