A loan of $750 helped to hire workers.

Orencia's story

Orencia, aged 57, is a hard-working, friendly woman who is also happy and jovial. She is a widow, and currently lives with her three grown children and her four grandchildren. They live comfortably in their own home.

The activity that Orencia does is growing corn. She has 40 acres of her own land to use for this, but she hasn't been able to use her whole land because of lack of capital. She has been working in this activity for 10 years, during which time she has learned all about farming. Her day starts very early, when she goes out to the fields to tidy up and look after the land, with the help of her children and four workers whom she pays for each week they work.

What she likes about her work is being in contact with nature as she likes the land. She also likes the financial income that is generated by every crop that she is able to bring to sale. On the flip-side, she comments that she doesn't much like when the weather's too hot, as she gets headaches and gets fatigued easily. For this reason, she now has plans to mix up her business, and in her remaining space grow pasture and raise dairy cattle.

This will be her third loan with the MPF institution, which is why she his hoping for your collaboration so that she can turn her plans into reality. She also states that she feels good about her communal bank, as she knows all the members and thinks they are good people.

With the requested amount of 2,000 new soles, she will invest in hiring workers for her corn harvest, which she has plans to sell.
