Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Domitila De Jesus's story

Domitila de Jesús, 51, lives in the city of Choluteca’s Brisas del Sur neighborhood. Domitila is an enterprising woman who is dedicated to her business which is sales of American clothing. She’s been in this line of work for more than 7 years. She sells the clothes at home and also in various firms in the city of Choluteca. Domitila rises at 6am every day to tend to her customers.

Domitila is the mother of two children who are adults and sometimes help her out economically. She will use the loan to buy clothing because the Christmas season is near and that’s when she sells the most but she doesn’t have enough capital at the moment to buy more clothes. In her free time she attends church and raises chickens.
