Gf Mawoudekon Group's story

GF MAWOUDEKON Group is made up of five women who are friends and live in the same village. This is the fifth time that the members of the group are seeking financial support from Kiva's partner, ALIDé, in order to bolster their businesses.

The group's representative, named Henriette, is the one raising her hand in the photograph. She's 33 years old and lives in Benin. She never attended school. She's a widow, and the mother of two children she has to support. Some children attend school.

Henriette lives alone with her children, and supports her family on her own. In order to provide for herself and her children, she's been growing chili pepper for eighteen years in her region. As a second business, Henriette sells manioc flour in a city in Benin. She buys the flour in her region.

Eager to meet customer demand, and in order to increase her revenue and income, Henriette, together with the other member of the group, is seeking her fifth loan from ALIDé. The previous four loans were repaid without problems.

In this group: Henriette, Henriette, Lucie, Célestine, Elisabeth
