A loan of $925 helped to purchase a cover for his greenhouse and seed potatoes.

Tajir's story

Tajir is from the village of Zemo Sarali, East Georgia. He is 52 years old, married, and lives with his family: his wife Nazakat, 21-year-old daughter, and 17-year-old son. Tajir is a teacher at a local school. Along with his main job, he is actively involved in his family's farm, which is their main source of income. They own 0.65 hectares of land, where they grow cucumbers, beans, and potatoes, as well as a greenhouse for growing vegetables. Tajir sells their harvest locally. The family's total average monthly income is 650 laris.

Tajir has requested a loan to purchase seed potatoes and a new polyethylene cover for his greenhouse. The existing cover is torn and can’t maintain the required temperature inside the greenhouse. Tajir will grow potatoes in the greenhouse and harvest them early in the spring, when the price of potatoes is at its highest. He will use the additional income to improve his family's living conditions.
