A loan of $375 helped to buy five slaughtered sheep, milk, cheese, and eggs.

Saturnina's story

Saturnina is a member of the Ahorro es Progreso communal bank, located in the district, province, and department of Puno. She is 66 years old and married, with three independent children. She studied at the high-school level.

She has been working for four years with the Manuela Ramos movement. Her first loan was for the sum of 300 PEN, money that increased the sale of meat in her business.

She will request a new loan for the sum of 1000 PEN, money she will invest in buying five slaughtered sheep. She also will buy milk, cheese, and eggs. She says she sells in the market as a street vendor.

She wants to continue with her business.

What she likes most about her communal bank are the profits in savings and the incentives.
