A loan helped to buy fruits including bananas, avocado, sapote, passion fruit and a sack of manure to fertilize her fruit trees.

Ángel Maria's story

Ángel is a 34-year-old mother of five children and is in a relationship.

She is a hardworking woman and a fighter. For three years she has been engaged in the sale of fruits such as avocado, sapotes, and bananas. Since she was little she liked to sell fruits and other things with her mother. For that reason she has always liked the business. This is all thanks to her mother, who taught her to earn a decent living. Ángel has done the domestic chores around her house, but now she makes a living at her business in order to help her children as much as they need.

She gets the fruit from the farm that her life partner owns in addition to others that she buys from her neighbors. She gets up at 5:00 am to harvest the fruits, then travels by bus for two hours to the market, which is the place where she sells the fruit.

Ángel requests a loan from Fundación Campo to buy bananas, avocado, sapote, passion fruit, and other fruits from people who live near her home. She requests the loan in order to have the working capital to allow her to purchase more fruit to sell as well as to buy a sack of manure to fertilize the trees she already has. She is seeing that her business is profitable and these revenues help cover expenses for her household and her children.

She is thinking about making improvements to her home, to have a better quality of life for her family and so that her children have the opportunity to continue their studies and have a better future.
