A loan of $800 helped to grow 1 manzana (1,740 acres) of onion, buy inputs and pay for labor.

Edgar Antonio's story

El Jícaro, a community located in the outskirts of Estelí, is where Edgar comes from. Edgar, 23, earns a living from agriculture. He started out at 15 years old working equally with his brother to grow onions, sweet pepper and tomatoes, but now he has been doing this on his own for two years. He has a two-and-a-half-year-old, who is his number one priority, and he works hard to give his family the best life possible. He requests this loan to grow 1 manzana (1,740 acres) of onion, buy inputs and pay for labor. This loan will help him finish the sowing process. In the future, he wants to buy agricultural machines. His next goal is to have another area to grow onions.
