A loan of $925 helped to buy vegetables.

Primitiva's story

Primitiva is 36 years old and has been in a common-law relationship with her partner Sergio for 12 years. They have two children, ages 12 and 10. This family lives in the annex of Ricricán, which is located in the District of Palcamayo. Primitiva is a woman who strives to make progress. For this reason, she has established a business selling vegetables at the wholesale market where she has two vending stalls.

Her work consists of selling vegetables in bulk from the city of Lima such as sweet potatoes, tomatoes, red chili peppers, lemons, coastal celery, and other items. She also grows her own potatoes, but only for family consumption. Primitiva devotes herself to selling vegetables full-time. She explains, “I have no need to travel since I have been in this business for several years. I send the money, between 3000 to 4000 PEN, and the merchandise arrives every Tuesday or Thursday. It is very profitable.” Primitiva has been doing this work for three years. On Wednesdays and Fridays, she travels to La Merced in the central jungle to distribute her products. She plans to build a house in central Palcamayo where she has her own land.

Primitiva will access her 15th loan with MFP. She promises to be punctual with her loan payments. Primitiva indicates that she is in agreement with the work of her Communal Bank that promotes unity and entrepreneurial opportunities. Upon receiving her loan, Primitiva plans to invest all of the money in the purchase of vegetables so that she can continue her business.
