Barrio Municipal Group's story

The communal bank A.C. “BARRIO MUNICIPAL” will start its first cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the focal centre of Collpani. The group consists of 8 members and is lead by a board headed by the president Señora Rosa. The businesses the members run are various among which are: food sales; ice cream sales; toy sales; cheese sales; meat sales; lettice sales; making babies' sweaters and blankets; sales of soft drinks, sweets and pastries; various handicraft production.

Señora Rosa says that it is the 1st time that she works with Pro Mujer and was invited to become a member. Currently she has a business selling ice creams and juice, something she learned from her mother, which she has been running for several years.

The loan she will currently take is to increase her working capital to buy sugar, milk and glasses which she get in La Paz and subsequently sell in the street markets. This kind of work allows her to generate an income to support her family as she lives with her partner.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the health clinics.
