A loan of $375 helped to buy kitchen utensils and ingredients.

Hilda's story

Hilda is 48 years old and is a hardworking, dynamic woman. She’s very friendly, jovial, and lives with her husband Luis. She has four children, ages 15, 18, 20, and 30. She also has three young grandchildren whom she loves very much and who live with her in her own home.

She has a food selling business and sells dishes such as tallarin, chaufa rice, fried chicken and drinks. She sets up a table in front of her house every evening. She started this business ten years ago, with the help of some working capital that she got from her husband. With great effort and dedication, she was able to win regular customers. Now she gives them friendly service, with her children’s help.

Aside from the income it generates, what she likes about this business is that it keeps her busy and makes her feel like a productive woman. However, what she doesn’t like is the heat of the food cooked over charcoal, as it warms her body and damages her health.

She plans to open a restaurant in her home. This will be her second loan though MFP and she’s hopeful for your cooperation that will allow her to continue with her objectives. She feels good about her communal bank because its members are responsible people. With this loan of 1,000 PEN ($375), she will buy more kitchen utensils, such as plates, pots, pans, and ingredients, such as noodles, rice, and cooking oils to prepare her food.
