Haidar is a 63-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and three children, two of them are working and one still attends school. In order to fulfill his family needs, Haidar works hard and is ready to help whenever they need it. He has worked as a taxi driver since 1975. His job consists of transporting people from inside to outside Lebanon upon request.
Today, Haidar is facing problems with his car, so he is asking to borrow $2000 from Kiva partner, Ameen s.a.l., to replace his old car with a new one in order to be able to carry on his work properly. In the future, he plans to buy a van and serve a wider range of people.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
