Soboulde/bamtare Group's story

The Bamtaré group was formed on 17th May 2011 after a local credit bank was established. It is made up of 13 women who all live in the same village. They all sell various goods for a living.

Madame Khadiyatou (sitting at the far right of the photo with her arm raised) is the group leader. She is 26 years old and is married with five children.

She sells rice, oil, soap, tea, sugar and other mixed goods; she buys them at weekly markets and re-sells them in her village. She has been involved in this line of work for a number of years.

Her loan will enable her to purchase greater volumes of these goods.

The profits that she generates will enable her to improve her family's living conditions by helping her to support her husband.

In this group: Mariama Bailo, Dienabou Yaya, Nene , Maimouna, Seybatou, Kadidiatou Aliou, Ansou, Coumba Massata, Ouleye, Raky, Aminata, Khadyatou, Kadidiatou
