The “Nuevo Amanecer de Villa Adela” (Villa Adela’s New Dawn) communal bank will start its first cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Collpani focal center. It has seven members led by a governing board headed by Ruth, the Secretary. The members of the communal bank carry out a variety of businesses. Among them we have: Yambal cosmetics sales, turnover sales, clothing store, grocery store, video sales, toy and home appliance sales, baby clothes knitting.

Ruth indicates that this is the first time she’s worked with Pro Mujer and that she joined the institution thanks to an invitation from a family members. She’s currently in business selling toys and home appliances, a business she’s had for several years now and that she learned from her family.

The loan she will now take out is to increase capital. She will buy toys in Oruro and Desaguadero to later resell in the street markets. This way of working allows her to have resources to support her family because she is single and has a son. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the health services.
