A loan of $525 helped buy cereals.

Alasseni's story

Mr. Alasseni was born in 1974 in Kadiolo. He is the father of five children all living in a traditional family in Kai, part of the Kadiolo prefecture.

He has been trading in cereals for four years. His experience in this area has earned him a good reputation and he is getting orders for cereals, especially maize.

To ensure he has the necessary resources to satisfy his clients, he has been working with the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance institution, where he has already completed five loan cycles, all of which were properly settled.

This loan will enable him to buy two tons of maize and a half-ton of millet. He gets his supplies from villages in the vicinity of Kai. The grain is kept in his storeroom, and then resold for cash to both men and women customers coming from Sikasso and Bamako.

He expects this loan will produce average monthly profits of 80,000 FCFA. The profits will enable him to pay off loan interests and invest the remainder into his business activity.

He intends to become a renowned wholesaler to satisfy an increasing number of customers.
