Dieu Vivant Plus Group's story

Pierre is the chairman of the community bank named “Dieu Vivant Plus” which is composed of 13 micro-entrepreneurs who are united in the same goal — to grow their businesses with loans received from Kiva through HOPE RDC.

Pierre is 53 years old. His main business activity is selling beverages. He buys them in bulk and resells them at the retail level for a profit. He sells his products daily at the market in his area located west of Kinshasa. His business makes a profit of about US $180 per week.

Pierre started his business in 2000. He is a trustworthy client of HOPE RDC, having seven times obtained and correctly repaid loans. His next loan will allow him to buy twenty crates of beverages to increase his sales in order to make a better profit. The aim of this loan is to reinforce his working capital and provide food for his family. Pierre is married and the father of nine children, whose ages range from 10 to 33 years old. Four of the children attend school.
